HEY, I AM IRENE!
When I was a kid, and someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, my answer always was, “I want to be a translator.” I remember watching CNN in Spanish and listening to all the simultaneous interpreters while in action, and I found it fascinating. Since I am a goal-achiever, I decided to pursue the Bachelor of Humanities with a specialization in English from the University of Panama, and I graduated as a member of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Honor. I worked very hard to achieve my dream: becoming a certified translator.
Member of Panamanian Association of Translators and Interpreters (APTI) and International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (IAPTI).
After obtaining my license as a Certified Public Translator and my Broadcaster License…
I decided to continue my postgraduate studies in Switzerland, at the prestigious Glion Institute of Higher Education, where I obtained the degree of Master in Business Administration in Hospitality, Tourism, and Marketing. Recently, I obtained my license as a Public Examiner from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Panama, which empowers me to administer exams for future public translators.
When I started my career, I was fortunate to meet people who helped me develop my expertise, and now I enjoy supporting others who are beginning in the linguistic world.
Although I collaborate for international NGOs and national and international companies and corporations, for me, the opportunity of connecting with individuals, listening to their stories, and knowing that my work is just another step towards fulfilling their dreams is priceless.
Another benefit I love about my job is that it allows me to work remotely, and because I am addicted to adventure, I can continue traveling and learning about other cultures.
I am full of energy, and I love practicing sports and exercising, but when I close my laptop, and it is time to relax, you will probably find me binge-watching Star Wars movies with my lovely pug Mr.Vader or planning my next adventure.

My expertise and fluency in the English language have taken me to work in countries as Norway, Switzerland, and United States and attended seminars and conventions in Malta, UK, Holland, Ukraine, and Hong Kong, which has enriched my cross-cultural knowledge.
In 2012, I became a business owner, launching Panama Translator, a boutique translation and interpretation agency, which has grown in recurrent and on-the-spot clients, bringing last-minute solutions to local and international markets' needs.
